Named in a complaint? Respond on the record.

Every respondent has a permanent, free right of reply on the same docket, with equal prominence. Responding is never conditioned on payment, and the reply channel never closes.

How it works

  1. Create an account (or sign in) with an email you control.
  2. Claim your profile. Tell us how we can verify that you are the person named: bar or juris number, an official court or firm email we can write to, or a chambers phone number. This prevents impersonation in both directions.
  3. File your answer. Once verified, you can answer each allegation (admit, deny, contest, or add context), file a narrative answer, and attach your own exhibits. Your filing is docketed immediately with the same prominence as the complaint.
  4. Verify it, if you choose. An answer sworn under penalty of perjury is marked ✓ Verified, exactly as a verified complaint is. An unsworn answer is published too, marked Unverified.
  5. Supplement at any time. The record stays open for both sides.
Responding is not an admission of anything. If you believe a case violates the complaint content policy (for example, it discloses sealed material or targets a private individual), you may also request review through contact, citing the case number. Both paths are available.
